Genre

In the music industry there are many types of music genre, such as rock, RNB and rap, however the genre we chose was that of pop, due to the fact that we, as a group, found more diverse conventions for the music video in this particular genre. Ideas such as being able to use band shots, yet also performance shots (as seen in music videos of the rock genre) may still fit in, and the beats are very "typical", and quite straightforward to sequence images and clips together. Moreover, we have been conducting research on other music videos of the same genre, and come to a few conclusions. Videos we have studied are:

The Veronicas - 4Ever

These videos have two things in common: the pop genre and a female lead. The group decided that these two things are vital in the production of our music video, due to the fact that the genre is more ranged in potential and the population of our group is female, and therefore, we would not be relying on outside people to perform in the majority of our footage.
